U.S. Legalizes Torture

The U.S. Congress passed one of the worst bills in the history of the nation on September 29, 2006. For the first time, our government has legalized torture. In addition, the legislation suspends basic rights and liberties of anyone our government decides to define as an enemy combatant, and "enemy combatant" is defined so broadly that it could conceivably cover almost anyone.
